AVENUE connects five European ecosystems to strengthen skills, training, and career opportunities in the creative visual industries. The project focuses on professional and vocational education in areas such as animation, games, virtual production, visual storytelling and extended reality, while also rethinking how teaching and learning are delivered in formal education.
AVENUE supports learners, students, educators, and industry professionals in developing practical skills in content creation, entrepreneurship, and innovation. By promoting sustainable practices and healthier working environments, the project contributes to a more resilient, inclusive, and future-ready creative industry across Europe.
Writers, animation directors, character designers, storyboarders and voice actors across Europe are invited to participate in AVENUE PRIME TIME LAB to create an animated series for primetime audiences that can resonate with audiences across Europe.
From the selected applicants, two creative teams will be formed. Each team will develop a new animated series concept from initial idea to pitch.
During the first research year (2025/26), each Ecosystem Driver produced a literature-informed sector overview covering skill requirements, competencies, and training needs. Scope and depth varied across ecosystems due to differing resources. ESDs also conducted industry interviews within their specialisations, and this report synthesises the key themes and findings from that data.
AVENUE’s primary objective is to innovate teaching methods and provide immediate vocational training to empower students and professionals in content creation, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
By facilitating mobility, networking, Open Access online training, and onsite training, AVENUE aims to upgrade the workforce’s skills and transform formal education to meet the demands of the commercial market.
The result of AVENUE will be a deep-rooted partnership between five strong ecosystems, collaborating to elevate the European industry. More than 2000 professionals, employees, students, and young talents will benefit from relevant and immediate upgrading of competencies and skills, ensuring that the five European ecosystems remain at the forefront of innovation and competitiveness in the creative visual industry.
