The XR Ecosystem is coordinated by Politecnico di Torino, a leading technical university in Italy renowned for its excellence in education, research, and innovation. With a strong foundation in science, engineering, and architecture, Politecnico di Torino is at the forefront of research and development in the field of Extended Reality (XR), encompassing Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR). The ecosystem is developed in close collaboration with Film Commission Torino Piemonte, a regional engine for the audiovisual and digital creative sectors. It is further strengthened by its industry partner Prodea Group and supported by associated partners Cartoon Italia and the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia Together, these actors foster a dynamic environment for experimentation, co-creation, and applied innovation in XR.
Within the AVENUE project, the XR Ecosystem focuses on continuously addressing emerging challenges and skill mismatches in the field of extended reality. Through ongoing, practice-based research, it aims to provide relevant and immediate upskilling opportunities, foster excellence in vocational education and training, support innovation, and promote inclusion across the creative sector.

A member of ANICA and a founding partner of Animation in Europe, Cartoon Italia bridges national producers with the broader European creative ecosystem.
